VA Long Beach Fisher House Update

VA Long Beach Fisher House Update

Since the opening of the brand-new VA Long Beach Fisher House in November 2016, the monthly occupancy rate has averaged over 90%; in March 2017 alone the house was 100% occupied. Recently, 22% of the population hosted in the new Long Beach Fisher House has been children. We would also like to extend a big thank you to all of the groups who have recently hosted events for the FH residents, including:

  • The David Salon, who has been offering free haircuts for Fisher House guests
  • The Daughters of the American Revolution Mojave Chapter, who hosted a dinner for Fisher House guests
  • Leo Club
  • VFW – Hawaiian Gardens
  • VFW – Auxiliary (Lomita)
  • American Legion Riders Post 132
  • The Lennon family
  • Elk’s Lodge
  • American Legion Auxiliary Unit 266, and;
  • other valuable volunteer efforts from community members.

If you are interested in volunteering at any of the Fisher Houses we support, please contact us to get started!

Thank you for your continued support of the Fisher House Southern California.
